Sales Engineer

Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Hunting

  • Identify and open new industrial accounts

  • Conduct plant visits and discovery meetings

  • Qualify opportunities and build structured sales pipelines

  • Prepare proposals and negotiate contracts

  • Close new business consistently

2. Account Growth & Retention

  • Maintain strong relationships with plant managers, engineers, and purchasing

  • Identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities

  • Coordinate delivery schedules and service support

  • Ensure high renewal rates

3. Technical Solution Selling

  • Understand customer systems (water treatment, wastewater, membranes)

  • Work with internal technical support to design treatment programs

  • Communicate solutions clearly and confidently

  • Translate technical benefits into financial value

4. Sales Discipline & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate CRM records

  • Submit weekly pipeline updates

  • Track sales metrics and forecast revenue

  • Manage territory with a structured target plan

5. Collaboration

  • Work closely with:

    • Head of Chemical Sales

    • Technical support team

    • Logistics and warehouse

    • Finance for credit management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Business, or related field preferred)

  • 2–6 years experience in B2B sales (industrial or technical sales preferred)

  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills

  • Willing to travel to plant sites

  • Organized and disciplined in reporting

Advantage but Not Required:

  • Background in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Engineering

  • Experience in water treatment or industrial chemicals

  • Experience selling to manufacturing plants
